Descriptive Summary

Record Group: Section A - Correspondence

Dates of materials: 1941-1948

Volume: 9 item(s); 12 pg(s)

Scope and Content

This collection contains an early original letter to Merton from 1948, a letter from John Brown to Caillard regarding censorship of a book about escaping Nazi occupied France while the war was still in progress, and a series of citizenship and naturalization papers related to Caillard. It is possible that Merton was interested in Caillard's World War II escape story, and/or that Caillard saw Merton as someone to help him get his story published.
