This file only contains letters between Msgr. Shannon and people who were not Merton correspondents. There are no Merton letters in this file, and all correspondence occurs after Merton's death. In addition to this file, there are Shannon letters interfiled with other Merton correspondents. All correspondence deals with issues related to Merton's personal papers or art.

Biography

Fr. William H. Shannon is a Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. He has written a biography of Merton and other books on Merton. He was the chief editor of Merton's published letters.
