Opening Times:

The Thomas Merton Center is located on the second floor of the W. L. Lyons Brown Library at the center of the Bellarmine University campus. It is open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Click here for a campus map and directions. In exceptional circumstances special arrangements are occasionally possible for groups who wish to visit the Center evenings and on Saturdays. Special arrangements should be requested from the Director of the Center.

Parking on Campus:

Limited parking for visitors is available in front of Horrigan Hall, the main administration building on campus. If there is no visitor parking available then just find a parking place and go either to the reception desk or the security office in Horrigan Hall to get a temporary parking permit.


Holiday Closures:

The Thomas Merton Center and Bellarmine University are closed on the following dates:

April 2nd - Good Friday

May 31st - Memorial Day

July 4th - Independence Day

September 6th - Labor Day

November 24th (from noon), 25th and 26th - Thanksgiving

December 23rd - January 4th 2011 - Christmas

January 17th - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

March 11th - Spring Break


Accommodation for Visitors:

Limited student residential accommodation is sometimes available on the campus for out-of-town researchers. Further details of this can be obtained from Angela Rone in Special Events. Telephone: (502) 272 8100.

Limited public transport is available, but there is a city bus that stops close to the Best Western on Newburg Road and stops close to Bellarmine University.
