This cannot be much more than a brief note to say that I agree with it,  aggiornamento, reform, of religious life - sense of artificiality - "struggle between the old rigidities and new forms of triviality" / Carmelites share this struggle / suggests personal life of contemplation while working "in the world" and a visit to Regina Laudis in Bethlehem Connecticut
