Scope and Content
In 1967, Merton wrote a brief reaction to the Second Vatican Council's Constitution on the Church in the Modern World for a booklet put out by the Catholic Action Federations. His letter is not extant, but the article is a response to the Constitution's message against war.
Biography
The Editorial Staff of the Catholic Action Federations was writing from Chicago, Illinois, and included: Peter Foote, John J. Hill, Lawrence Kelly, John McCudden, and Theodore C. Stone.
