Scope and Content

Joel Wells and Merton discuss articles for the Catholic literary journal, The Critic. Merton wrote articles concerning Camus and existentialism. They also discuss the apology to Merton by Martin Marty and the possibility of Merton writing for an "I was wrong" series.

Biography

Joel Wells was editor of The Critic, published by the Thomas More Association of Chicago, Illinois. He has gone on to write many books concerning Catholicism, humor and social commentary.
