QuotationBulgakov's explanation of his sophianology (Du verbe incarne, p. 16) seems to me clear and satisfactory. The divine nature is distinct from the 3 Divine Persons, but is not therefore a 4th. principle superadded to make a "quaternity." No one imagines that it does. When the same nature is regarded as "Sophia"-why should that constitute a 4th. person?
