Quotation | I am sending you John Wu's translation of the Tao Te Ching. The same place has published a translation of an important Chinese Zen work, the Platform Sutra of Hui Neng, but unfortunately the translation, though probably good in its own right, uses terminology that misses the real Zen meaning and does not correspond to the kind of language used by the best Zen men, like Suzuki. At least there should be some agreement on terms. |
