Merton responds to a question about the psychological and theological issue surrounding sexuality and sexual love. Since he admits not generally responding to such problems in a monastic setting, he refers Lytton to some books on the subject, including The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm and In Defense of Purity by Dietrich Von Hildebrand.
