Merton had sent Professor Herbert Burke a mimeographed copy of his manuscript of "Peace in the Post Christian Era". Stein catalogued the book and added it to the library at St. John's University.
Fr. Benjamin J. Stein was a Benedictine priest and long-time head librarian for St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota.
