Fr. Jacques writes to Dom Frederic Dunne regarding the book The Spirit of Simplicity, anonymously written by Thomas Merton. He offers some photographs of the Abbey of Fontenay for illustrations in the book [not extant]. The letter was among letters regarding the preface Merton wrote for Cheneviére's book on the life of Fr. Marie-Joseph Cassant, but does not seem to be related.
Fr. M. Jacques was a monk of the Trappist Abbey of Cîteaux in France.
