Merton thanks Percyval Tudor-Hart for attending his father's funeral. Two years later, Tudor-Hart arranged for an exhibit of Owen Merton's paintings.
Percyval Tudor-Hart was the art teacher and mentor of Thomas Merton's father, the painter Owen Merton.
