In contrast to Merton's correspondence with individuals employed by Curtis Brown (Naomi Burton Stone, Perry Knowlton, Elizabeth Mowat, etc.), whose files are listed by name, this was a file kept by one of Merton's abbots, Dom James Fox. It is primarily Fox's letters in connection with the literary agency, Curtis Brown, Ltd., although there are some copies of Merton's letters and a number of small notes by Merton.
See also the following correspondence files for Merton's correspondence with individuals in this file: "Bruce, Frank;" "Contracts (publishing - various countries);" "Fox, James;" "Giroux, Robert," "Knowlton, Perry," "Mowat, Elizabeth;" "Rosenthal, Jean;" and "Stone, Naomi Burton." Dom James Fox also has many of his own letters in correspondence with Naomi Burton Stone, filed separately as a series in his file.
If the person in correspondence with Merton has full text records in the Merton Center Digital Collections, there will be a numeric link to them below.
This Record Sub-Group is not divided into Series and is arranged chronologically.
