Sub-Section H.20: John Edgar Raub Papers (Fr. Jacob, OCSO)
John E. Raub was a priest from 1962-1972. He became a Trappist monk (in religious life, Fr. Jacob) of the Abbey of Gethsemani for twenty-eight years from 1972-2000. After being dispensed from the priesthood, he married Ann B. Hunter in June 2001. He was he author of two books: the first, as a Trappist writing under John Jacob Raub in 1992, Who Told You that You Were Naked: Freedom from Judgment, Guilt and Fear of Punishment; and the second as John Edgar Raub in 2014, Francis Repair My Church: Pope Francis Revives Vatican II. Both books are available in the Merton Center Archives with inscriptions by Raub.
Materials in this subsection include essays by Raub, correspondence, reviews of Raub's books, and miscellaneous print memorabilia.
